For Week Ending:
Jan 28, 2012 |
#1 - JESSE EMERSON
(Previous Ranking #1) |
Jesse Emerson
moves up to the #1 spot with another impressive showing last week.
He can solidify his #1 position with a victory over Jake Crist when
the two battle in a World War 3 rematch this Tuesday night in
Hamilton. Will manager Brock Guffman assist Jesse in winning the
title for a second time? |
#2 - "PRIME
CUT" NICK CUTLER (Previous
Ranking #8) |
A
disqualification victory over the reigning HWA American Luchacore
Champion Dave Crist, skyrockets Cutler to the #2 spot. Cutler not
only moves up the ladder, he also earned himself a future shot at
the title by defeating the champion in the non-title match last
Tuesday. |
#3 - HWA AMERICAN
LUCHACORE CHAMPION DAVE CRIST
(Previous Ranking #1) |
Dave will have to
put his title on the line against Nick Cutler at a future HWA live
event, but right now he's focused on a very special event taking
place this Friday at The Great Miami Event Center when the HWA and
CZW come together for the Fundrayzer! It will be an OI4K battle when
Dave teams with his brother Jake Crist and "The New Horror" Sami
Callihan to take on Eric Ryan, Bobby Beverly and Rickey Shane Page
in a six man tag team extravaganza! |
#4 -
GEROME PHILLIPS
(Previous Ranking #4) |
After much
speculation as to what he would do, DJ Hyde responded to the
challenge of Gerome Phillips and the two big men will collide this
Friday in Hamilton at HWA's Fundrayzer. For those of you who missed
DJ's response to Phillips,

#5
- "RELENTLESS" RON MATHIS
(Previous Ranking #6) |
Mathis came out
on top in a Three Way battle with up and comer Dre Jacobs and one
half of the HWA Tag Team Champions, Jeff Mayhem. Mathis continued to
add fuel to the fire where his issues with Jake Crist is concerned,
not only running his mouth about the current HWA Heavyweight
Champion but also disparaging Jake's friend, Dustin Rayz.
#6 - HWA HEAVYWEIGHT
CHAMPION JAKE CRIST
(Previous Ranking #6) |
It was champion
vs. champion this past Tuesday when Jake Crist took on one half of
the HWA Tag Team Champions Troy Marcum. The two battled to a double
count out... not exactly a momentum builder as Jake faces the
toughest challenger in his second reign as HWA Heavyweight Champion,
Jesse Emerson, the very man he defeated for the title back at HWA
World War 3. |
#7 - HWA TAG TEAM
CHAMPIONS THE AMERICAN WRESTLING WARRIORS (Previous
Ranking #3) |
Neither member of
the American Wrestling Warriors had their hands raised this past
week and this coming week it is more singles action for the reigning
HWA Tag Team Champions when they pair off against former tag champs,
DNA! |
#8 - DNA
(Previously Unranked) |
DNA was quite
effective in singles competition this past week with Doug Charlez
besting Jon Murray and Aaron McCormick defeating "Die Hard" Tom
McClain. If they can repeat their singles success against Troy
Marcum and Jeff Mayhem this coming Tuesday, they may find themselves
getting another shot at the HWA Tag Team Titles sooner than later! |
#9 - REMI WILKINS
(Previous Ranking #7) |
Remi Wilkins was
unable to compete at last Tuesday's HWA Adrenaline event and as a
result falls two spots to #9 on this week's Top Ten. Remi will be in
the house on Friday night as part of the HWA Fundrayzer when he
teams up with the HWA Tag Team Champions The American Wrestling
Warriors to take on The Heat Seekers and Juice Jennings!
#10 - "THE MADNESS"
CHRIS HALL
(Previous Ranking #9) |
Like Remi
Wilkins, Hall was not in action this past Tuesday and slips to the
#10 position due to that inactivity.
