Now a look at the second round of the Second Annual Heartland Cup Tournament...

Steve Corino  vs.  DJ Hyde

"The King of Old School" Steve Corino shut up Ron Mathis in the opening round of the Cup, but his quarter final opponent will not be taking him lightly.

DJ Hyde may have made short work of Chrisjen Hayme, but "The Lariat" knows he'll have his work cut out for him and he also knows a victory over the former ECW and NWA World Heavyweight Champion will only make his reputation grow stronger.

But Corino is determined to add the Heartland Cup to his long list of accolades and he has the skills and experience to defeat anyone.

Gerome Phillips vs. Drake Younger

Gerome Phillips is in a good place, not only did he get a measure of revenge against Nick Cutler and Danny O'Brien in the opening round, his quarter final opponent, Drake Younger went to hell and back with Jesse Emerson en route to his advancing in the tournament.

There's no way with only 24 hours rest that Drake Younger is going to come into the quarter final round at 100% and that is good news for Phillips.

Still if anybody is tough enough to make it past a monster like "Black Jaws" at less than 100% it is Drake Younger.

HWA Champion Jake Crist  vs.  Remi Wilkins

Jake Crist came out on top of a technical masterpiece against Chad Collyer while Remi Wilkins bested his trainer and teacher Billy Roc.

Both men come in with momentum, but Remi is still a huge underdog when he goes toe to toe with the current HWA Champion and the winner of the 1st Annual Heartland Cup.

BJ Whitmer  vs.  Alex Colon

Alex Colon pulled out a sudden victory last night over Dave Crist, but his Quarter Final opponent, BJ Whitmer, had a long and grueling contest with Michael Elgin.

Is Whitmer going to come into the second night of The Cup at 100%?

Whitmer's conditioning will definitely be tested by the hungry Colon.

But is that hunger enough to overcome the experience advantage BJ Whitmer has?
