No one has reinvented himself more than the current HWA Heavyweight Champion Gerome Phillips... Phillips began his HWA career as one half of The GP Code along with his current manager Andre Davis (then known as Andre Heart). The GP Code were one of the most popular tag teams in HWA history and had a tag team title reign that lasted an amazing 466 days...  But in July 2009, gone was the happy go lucky Deja Vu and soon a new pompous attitude emerged, King Vu was born... The self-proclaimed King of the HWA would go on to defeat Jake Crist and end Jake's record breaking title reign to become the HWA Heavyweight Champion at HWA Road To Destiny 2009... Formed Royal Violence with one time rival, Jon Moxley. The duo proved to be a dangerous combination winning the HWA Tag Team Championship... Greed got the better of King Vu in the latter part of 2009, as he wanted to hold all the gold and chased Aaron Williams and the HWA American Luchacore championship. This backfired on him as it was Aaron who walked away with both the HWA Heavyweight Title and the HWA American Luchacore Title... After Jon Moxley won the HWA Heavyweight Title, the partnership between he and Vu was over and the rivalry was rekindled!... Phillips would capture the HWA Heavyweight Title for a second time when he defeated Jon Moxley on July 14, 2010 at The Sorg in Middletown. After the match the HWA would be introduced to Phillips' new manager, Andre Davis.
